Anyone affiliated with the Wizard of Ads or Wizard Academy is just plain quirky, or as we like to say, "Our kind of crazy." That’s why the Wizard of Ads home office in Austin has been the proud sponsor (and creator of all posters) for the Annual Wiener Dog Race in Buda, Texas since its humble beginnings in 1999.
The theme for this year’s race (always held the last weekend in April) is Teenage Mutant Ninja Wieners. More than 200 wiener dogs are expected to attend, and fun will be had by all. A collector of my bronze dachshunds told me about the Buda Weiner Dog Races. The video is amazing! She also mentioned that the town of Buda may want to place Paint-a-Dachshund sculptures around Buda much like the Trail of Painted Ponies in Santa Fe. If the powers that be decide they would like to do this, I would love to be considered to create the sculpture(s) of the dachshund(s) to be painted!
