North Dakota Invaded By Angels

Snow_angel_1
Take a look at the photo on the right.  What may look like an infestation of ants is actually 8,900 people in Bismarck, ND, working hard to break the Guinness Book’s record for snow angels.

Once the record is verified, the old record holder (Michigan) will have to boost their next attempt by more than 5,000 people.

It takes some good old-fashioned marketing and word-of-mouth viral energy to get this many people to brave the cold and snow in order to participate.  From infants (who made snow angels by being spun around in their car seats) to oldsters (a 99 year-old grandmother, making her first angel), the turnout was infectious.  I’d love to know what they did to spread the word… and the excitement… and the joy.

  2. I used to live in Rapid City, South Dakota, which is a pretty darn cold place to live in the winter. It doesn’t surprise me at all that Bismarck actually had that many people turn out. For one, cold is never the issue for Dakotans. Secondly, there’s not much else to do, so this was probably the social event of the winter!

Since the beginning of this year I’ve also sensed an increase in the presence of angels in our meetings.Mr. Bentley visited a church in North Dakota. This involves driving across the vastness of North Dakota. The Angel came to Grand Forks, and the mayor arranged a tour in a motor home.
