After much ballyhoo in the marketing world and on this blog here and here, it comes as no surprise that Revlon is dropping its Vital Radiance line, along with the chief marketing officer, creative officer and other executives. Shares of Revlon had recently plunged by about 12 percent.
Too bad… from what I hear, the cosmetic line created for Boomers was a quality act. And with the former CFO now stepping in as chief executive, you can count on cost-cutting to drive the company in the future rather than innovative products and smart marketing.

I am beyond ticked off that this line was pulled. Yesterday I went to replace my foundation only to discover that it was discontinued. Today I discover that I spent $13 on another product that leaves my skin looking patchy and feels like I have a mask on.
Bring back this product!
As everyone else I loved Vital Radience. I am so sicked by these marketing execs who talk about how they want to start to show the world what real women look like, then make a product that does that, and pull it because of a slow period. These people truly cater to the young and edgy. You can’t go into a store now and find makeup other than the bright colors that younger women can wear. It’s truly disheartening.
Truthfully, I was not crazy about the VR lipstick, but all the other primers, colors and base makeup was incredible. I’m 49 years old and I always used Revlon makeup. I will not use any Revlon products anymore. I’ll find something else. It won’t help bring the product back, but I’ll feel better.
I have been searching on the internet for vital radiance eye primer to no avail. Out of desperation I ordered Paula Dorf eye primer, but even though it’s gotten good ratings I preferred V.R. I did manage to find the all-over bronzer at “Big Lots” a discount store. Too bad it’s gone -I thought it was a great idea and loved the wine lip liner ( Which I did get ahold of through an internet store.
I work outside in the summer heat, and Vital Radiance kept me looking good even on humid days. It is the only makeup I have ever worn that doesn’t melt before noon! Also the only make-up that has garnered compliments. Now Revlon has taken this off the market, which says to me that they think teenagers and 20 somethings have more money to spend on their products than those of us with more experience. They need to remember the size and buying power of our “baby boomer” generatiion! I am certainly not interested in trying any other Revlon products – even if I find something I like, who knows how long it will be around? They should take a note from Mabelline, whose black waterproof mascara makes the top of all the mascara lists I’ve ever seen. It is the only mascara I have ever worn AND the only mascara my 23 year old daughter has ever worn. Since all of us age, Revlon would have a built-in long term market with this excellent make-up for maturing skin. Foolish, foolish, foolish!
I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am that you have discontinued the Vital Radiance line of cosmetics. I finally found a good line of cosmetics and you take them away. Please consider bringing them back and do a better job marketing them this time. I found them quite by accident. Right now I am in dire need of the brow defining pencil, blonde 02. Do you know where I can still find it?
All these comments represent just a fraction of thousands of equally disappointed customers, myself included.
Revlon should listen & realize they have something irreplicable & in great demand.
Revlon has an opportunity to save face with an entire generation that is now turning against their entire brand. The best campaign they could put out there is one of apology as they reintroduce VR, showing real customers and how thankful they are. They’d achieve more trial of VR than ever before for sure. We all have to make that phone call or write that e-mail to them directly though so they know the numbers.

I am 40 yo and I just discovered Vital Radiance and too late to boot! It is at a local discount store and selling cheap…now I know why! It seems that Revlon only caters to young ladies and those of that search and search for a well balanced, not to heavy make up desiged for mature skin get left in the dust once again! Thanks Revlon! Ohhh..and thanks for discontinuing my hair color too! You sure know how to make a gal buy products from someone else!
I used Vital Radiance for the past year and just discovered is discontinue, I’m very dissapointed. This is the best make up I used in years, PLEASE BRING IT BACK.

I sent my concerns to Revlon’s website (www.revlon.com). Sure hope it does some good. I loved this product and I’ve tried them all!! Maybe if we all write them a couple of times a month eventually they might reconsider and bring it back. It’s worth a try, right?
Add my vote of disappointment. Earlier this year I ordered a few months’ supply of several Vital Radiance products from Drugstore.com, and I just opened the last of the dwindling stash. I search the product line name online every so often hoping to see an announcement from Revlon re-introducing the line. No such luck. And…when I sent my opinion to Revlon several months ago after I found out that Vital Radiance had been pulled from the market, no one even sent me a “thanks for the comment” email. Revlon, what ARE you thinking?
I’m so bummed!! I loved this makeup and was so happy to be able to pick it up at Walmart and not have to bother with mall makeup counters. I’m going to e-mail Revlon tonight!!
I also have looked everywhere for VR to no avail and am sorely disappointed. Revlon has to be convinced to bring it back!
There was a REBATE on Vital Radiance at Walgreens. I was looking for something new. I absolutely loved the foundation. I went to purchase more. I AM CRUSHED that it’s being discontinued. It made me feel young and beautiful. I looked like I had the clearest complexion. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!
This is the ONLY makeup line that went from foundation (which I have not ever worn before but the VR one – primer plus foundation is terrific) through to eye shadow that I have ever truly liked. I am digging out the last little bits of the eyelid primer with a Q-tip – that is the single most wonderful product that Revlon could have made. What is up with these people? We’re a huge market that the other cosmetic companies want to garner- such as Olay, Loreal, Clinique etc etc – why does Revlon want to give us the shove?
Vital Radiance was the only make-up that didn’t make my face break out. I am now cycling through new make-ups trying to find a replacement with NO LUCK.
I have always been a “brand loyal” customer – if i find something that works I stick with it. It is frustrating when any good products are discontinued, VR even more so.
Huge mistake – someone please BRING IT BACK!!
Thanks to this blog, I’ve ordered VR foundation from cosmeticsandmore.com. By the time I completed my personal trial of several drugstore foundations on my 64 year old face and concluding VR the best, the line was discontinued. How disapponting. Revlon, please bring it back.
Ladies there are some vital radiance makeup products on ebay for sale. I love the foundation also I am nearing 40 and it makes my makeup look so smooth when I use it. I do not think Revlon did much with marketing that line of makeup . It is a shame that something so many of us like is being done away with.
I just wanted to add my displeasure that Revlon discontinued the Vital Radiance line. I used the concealer and the brow defining liner, and when I went to several drugstores looking for it, I was very surprised that I could not find it anywhere. I usually buy Lancome products which cost much more, but I thought that the Vital Radiance products I tried were just as good. Too Bad!!
I used to buy Estee Lauder blush and of course they discontinued the color I liked. I finally found Vital Radiance in the “Pink Radiance” color and I love it. Once again, I find something that I like and plan to use and it gets discontinued. And, I agree with previous posters, Vital Radiance wasn’t given a fair chance. It was pulled from the shelves way too soon to know what the real marketing would be. I don’t get it. Come on people….bring it back.
I fell in love with the VR eye primer. I bought Elizabeth Arden’s eye primer at $25 per tube and still wasn’t satisfied with the results (eye make-up creasing and caking by the end of the day). I ‘stumbled’ upon VR products at my local WalMart – never heard of the line before, but considered giving it a chance. It was exactly what I had been searching for. When I discovered I could no longer purchase the product I was dumbfounded!! I spent 45 minutes wandering the cosmetics section incase they had moved the display (I was determined to walk out with my supply of primer!)
So, like many of you, I’ve been forced to search again for the perfect primer!
I’ve decided to boycott Revlon products.
I am so saddened that you are pulling this line. I have never been a big fan of Revlon but loved the VR line. Please reconsider bringing the line back. I am quickly running out of make-up and do not know what I will do.
I loved this primer and foundation. Like all those who have posted comments, I found it discontinued at WalMart. Please bring it back!!
Not realizing that the Vital Radiance line had been discontinued, I have been searching the stores for the products. It’s disappointing to see Revlon falling into the same format as many other cosmetic lines and only addressing the needs of the younger population. That will be the deciding factor on what company I buy other products from in the future.

Hi Im from England and discovered this range of cosmetics in a local department store going cheap.I only bought a bit incase it was rubbish but I loved it so went back and got more. Now after reading this,I know why its being sold cheap..eg eye primer £1.50
Its a shame Revlon pulled it,I dont ever remember seeing it advertised over here or in the shops. It really is a good range.
I loved the primer in this makeup and am very disappointed with Revlon for discontinuing it. Revlon will not get any more of my business. Does anyone know where they might still have some you could order?
It’s hard to believe that they discontinued it. I am reduced to buying it on Ebay, while it lasts.
Almay has a brow pencil that looks identical to the Vital Radiance one.
I am reduced to looking on the web for info on Vital Radiance, since it disappeared before I even got to make my second purchase. I can only hope that they read these comments and bring it back.
I am so sorry you removed Vital Radiance .It was the very best, If I only known I would be off the market I would have bought a case of it. Do you ever plan to sell it again? I t worked so GREAT on my face before applying my make up..I just LOVED IT………….

HI Everyone
I have been buying my Vital Radiance from a lady on ebay. Her screen name is lesla2007. She has tons of it and at reasonable prices. I like all of you just loved it and thought that it was fantastic. Looks like Revlon just wants to cater to the younger generation..
I really hope it comes back (in whatever form)! The blonde eyebrow pencil was the only exact match for my hair/complexion!
Yike.
I have been looking in all of the area drug stores to find the Vital Radiance line. After having no luck, I decided to look on the web for any possible information on locating these products. I came across this site and discovered that the products have been discontinued. I am so disappointed. I really loved the products that I have tried-especially the concealer with the moisturizer in the same tube. What a great product. Please bring it back!
So…this is what happened… I have been looking everywhere for the eyebrow pencil. I didn’t care that it cost $12.99. I would have paid double that. I only had the good fortune of buying it once. I hope to see it again in another line—it was the best.
Vital Radiance line softening makeup was the best that I have ever used, including all the very expensive brands. Revlon is making a major marketing mistake as we “senior” ladies have the means to buy what we want and also to get really mad when we don’t get what we want and spend our dollars with a company we can count on. Revlon, are you listening?????
Vital Rediance was perfect for my skin and so I am very disappointed in Revlon for not knowing the value of their own product line. Who’s making decisions there – Men?
I am EXTREMELY disappointed to learn that Vital Radiance has been discontinued. I noticed it had been taken off the shelf at Walgreen’s and Shopko, and I have been looking for it ever since. I can’t imagine Revlon would discontinue a product that is so wonderful and is loved by so many people! You’d think it would be real money maker for them; and if they are having money problems, why discontinue something so popular? Just goes to show you . . . the target population is the young and the beautiful–not the mature and not-so-beautiful.
Is there anyone, anywhere, still selling this product? The best I have found in my 71 years. Please, Revlon, reconsider putting Vital Radiance back in the stores.
Well this really ticks me off. I’m 58 yrs old & been wearing makup since I was 14 and until I found vital radiance I could NEVER find any that wouldn’t break my face out,and it goes on smoother than any I’ve ever tried. Please bring it back! This is not fair to us OLE Ladys.
I WONDERED WHY I HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO FIND VITAL RADIANCE-WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT-LUCKY FOR ME I STOCKED UP ON IT-THAT’S A REAL SHAME REVLON ISN’T CARRYING IT ANYMORE.
PLEASE BRING IT BACK.
Hi, it appears the Vital Radiance line has been sent here, to the UK. I’ve just bought quite a few items at astoundingly low prices from a shop called T J Hughes-the Line Softening MU was just £2.50 !! and the Primer was even less. This range looks excellent and reading the comments above-IS excellent. With the ‘ageing population’ increasing, doesn’t it make sense to market a make up range for the more mature woman? -after all, we need a little bit more help, and flattering textures and colours.
So – when are you going to bring it back? How about streamlining your products to reduce your costs by dropping some of the items you market to the pre-teen and teen-age markets. Boomers are a strong and viable market.
love it love it! please bring it back. I’m 64 and I really need this product like the others my sagging face needs all the help it can get!
I too bought some products of this line from WALMART when it first came out and also received the free samples V.R. sent to me. Their BLONDE eyebrow pencil was the best makeup product I have ever used. Went back to buy some more for the future and found that the line had been discontinued. I was sooo upset about it, as this BLONDE eyebrow pencil was actually an exact match and looks soooo nice and natural on! Loved the eye shadows and eye primer and the lip primer! They are excellent products. I FINALLY found additional quantities of these products on Drugstore.com, and on Ebay.com and online sites such as these. It makes me sick to see all of these postings and know that sooo many other women LOVED this product line too; yet it was discontinued after such a very short period of time on the market! What were they thinking??? PLEASE, please, please Revlon: RETHINK this one again! You are forcing us to go elsewhere for makeup products that we absolutely LOVE of yours! As many of us as there are out there; somebody really made a piss pour decision discontinuing this line and you need to BRING IT BACK for us!
I used the Vital radiance lip conditioner, it was the best! does
anyone know a good replacement.
Thank you
Vital Radience was the best makeup I had ever found. I was so disappointed that it was discontinued. This is the first time that I had found the perfect shade for my skin. I hope you reconsider and bring it back. It was a good product at a reasonable price. I think you dropped the ball on this one.
Revlon, schmevlon. Who cares who makes Vital Radiance, as long as someone makes it. If women are willing to order from NY or the UK, there must be one savy investor out there that GETS that this blog is about a demand for quality makeup. And how rare a quality, affordable makeup line is. Time to provide supply.
This is the best under eye concealer I have ever used, regardless of price. Revlon, bring it back…..As usual no one listens to the “older woman” even though we have all the money!! We need to boycot all Revlon products until they come to their right mind and bring this makeup line back.
Vital Radiance Is an outstanding product. At 35 and always having acne problems, scares on my face, sun spots ect.. this line of product really worked. And was the only product that didn’t cause my skin to break out. So now i wonder where i can find a product ( which i haven’t yet) will do the same great job. I wish you would reconsider pulling the plug on this great product…
i was lucky to purchase this product before it was removed. I still have the foundation compact but have a difficult time trying to figure out how to use it properly. is there a trick to using it, any hints and suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
Please bring back the Vital Radiance line. I loved the feel and look of the Moisture Covering Compact Makeup with SPF 15!!!!!!
I’ve never found a product that felt so good on my face and really did soften the wrinkles. I’m only one of many “Baby Boomers” that need a product like this.
Bring it back (like Coke did with their “Classic Coke”), and watch your profits soar! Just look at all these comments from your customers! Don’t be crazy – take advantage of the Baby Boomer generation who want this product!!!
So disappointed that Vital Radiance was discontinued. It was the best. Best lip pencil/lipstick combo, best eye primer, best lip primer. Please, please bring this back!
So disappointed that Vital Radiance was discontinued. It was the best. Best lip pencil/lipstick combo, best eye primer, best lip primer. Please, please bring this back!
I was very upset when I couldn’t find your makeup at Wal-Mart, as they remove things that most people want. One of their associates told me to go to Walgreens, and I couldn’t find it either. I love the eye-primer, it was the only thing I found that kept my eye make-up on without creasing or melting. The foundation is perfect for me also.
Please read the e-mails that have been circulating for over a year, they should mean something to the company,
The baby-boomer generation will still be here for a long time, and we will have the purchasing power for a long time, make-up doesn’t just stop when you are 40.
Women like to look pretty and this make-up help us look prettier, Bring it back!!
PLEASE offer some version of your eyeshadow base. No doubt people found some of your prices steep. I know I did, but I invest in what works – and for me that was your eyeshadow base.
Wow!
I googled Vital Radiance hoping I could purchase it online since CVS quit carrying it and I stumbled upon this blog.
This is by far the best makeup line out there regardless of age or skin type.
I have had women stop me in the middle of conversations to ask me what I used because my skin was glowing, I am 43 so that is pretty flattering.
Had I known it was going to be discontinued I would have stockpiled enough to last for years. REVLON LISTEN UP!!!!
Bring back the formula under an alias. Market it and gear it toward the 20 & 30 somethings and it’ll just be us 40 & older gals secret.
We won’t be offended, get yourself one of those gorgeous high end model/actress
/singer/tennis pro type girls to sign a 5 year million $ plus contract,
re-name the product something exotic and sensual, spare no expense with your photo shoots and locales.
Like Nike says “JUST DO IT”
Revlon,
I’ve been using foundation for 35 years and I’ve never found any foundation with the staying power of Vital Radiance.Best of all, it looks and feels so natural. The initial problem with sales was probably that it was marketed along side other lower priced cosmetics. Your company needs to bring it back at a lower selling price so more women will buy it and discover what a wonderful product it is. Later on you can raise the price. I know since I’ve used it, I would be willing to pay more for such an outstanding foundation. The decision to discontinue the Vital Radiance line is a major mistake. There is a profit to be made I hope your stockholders realize this.
I have been looking for vital radiance everywhere the last several months. Sorry to hear it has been discontinued. I just love the products. It kept my 59 year old face looking young. We can all hope revlon brings it back.
Why is it that everytime something comes out for women over 50 it gets pulled. Vital Radience was wonderful. I use other Revlon products, lipstick, nail polish, etc and am seriously considering never using another Revlon product again. How dare you pull this. Did you not take a public opinion poll of women over 50 before doing this? I think not!
I am with all of you ladies here. It took so long to find a foundation that did not make my lines stand out and still offered decent coverage. I am so very disappointed in Revlon. They seem to have made the decision without really gathering much data. If there are that many who happen to find this site and take the time to post, how many more are out there? How can a company turn their backs on such a large part of the market. I for one never saw a commercial for Vital Radiance, I found the display in the store one day when I was looking for some foundation. I have used CoverGirl, Loreal, MAC and another brand that cost me $25 for the little bottle. None of them compared to Vital Radiance. I sure wish they would bring it back.
Please, please my eyebrows need help and I love the Vital Radiance Brow Defining Pencil best of all. If I could find a similar product in a different line I would try it, but I have looked and not found anything remotely similar. Give us grown girls a break, we like to look great too. If you have any of these pencils lying around in Brunette (#06) send them to me. I know everything changes, but does it have to be this great line?
Please tell me where I can find your vital radiance eyeshadow #02 pink? There has to be some still left outthere somewhere!!!
I agree with the baby-booming women who have commented on Vital Radiance makeup. I loved the foundation, as well as eye shadow.
I further agree that the “former” CEO should begin his own company and market this line of makeup.
Where is Vital Radiance?????!!!!!Best brow defining pencil I ever used and the blonde color was ‘true’.
Enough already, get that chief marketing officer back who got all this going in the first place! DUH..
Is THE LOGIC..”IF WE DON’T SELL A TRILLION EVERY EVERY HOUR, DROP IT”?? AGAIN, duh.
BURNS MY BIPPY THE WAY THE HIGHER ESCHLON IS THESE DAYS. lISTEN TO THE ONES WHO SELL PRODUCTS.
Please, Please, please bring Vital Radiance back. It’s the only makeup system that I didn’t feel like I was wearing makeup. Loved the eyebrow pencil.
I am so disappointed in the discontinuation of Vital Radiance. I agree totally with all the other comments prior to mine and truly wish this product will be brought back to the market. It was very good for my skin and I hope someone will wake up and see a great marketing boom.
I really need Vital Radiance!!! Spending alot of money trying to find a makeup for my 62 year old skin that doesn’t show my pores. Vital Radiance made my skin look younger….Please tell me where I can get some NOW.
HELP……I NEED THIS MAKEUP. PLEASE VITAL RADIANCE!
I need this makeup. I love the vital radiance brow defining pencil. It’s all that works for me. Please let me know where I can get it. Please Please Please Thanks Marlene Martin
I bought the Vital Radiance Line Softening Makeup while in the USA. Now i want more and I’m in Australia!!!!!!! That’s how good it is. I was prepared to buy it and have it shipped over here. Now what do I do … oh woe is me……..boo hoo
Has anyone found anything that compares to the vital radiance line yet?I have been spending alot of money on alot of wasted makeup and I have had no Luck.
Over in the UK there are a few stores still selling this line and slowly the sales are getting higher as the ladies realise what a good brand it is.It just needed time for people to try it yet Revlon obviously didnt give it a chance.I bought one of everything while its cheap and I just love the blushers and eye primer.
I was devastated to hear that Vital Radiance had been discontinued.A year ago i finally found the perfect foundation to hide my imperfections and I was just thinking I was having bad luck finding it or that I had not remembered the correct brand name. I have been searching for these products from store to store. I finally decided to look it up on the internet only to find this blog. Please reconsider bringing your product back into th market.
Revlon Gets a $70 Million Lesson in Brand Naming
Today’s Wall Street Journal outlines Revlon’s return to its “core brand” after the failure of its Vital Radiance line for older women. The problem was that Revlon disassociated its extremely valuable brand naming from the Vital Radiance line. It was a …

1.Has anyone responsible for this blog thought to forward these many, many postings about the discontinued Vital Radiance product line to Revlon? This blog spot is not Revlon. The company responsible for taking it off the market should know how consumers are feeling out there. Clearly there is a solid market for these products. Revlon could profit from bringing this line back into production, or selling the formulae and rights to another company. Revlon, there are consumers out there ready to buy this line.
2.Okay, no more Vital Radiance, at least for now. So, what has anyone found to replace it? Nothing else I’ve discovered even comes close. It would be more than helpful to all those who read this blog to learn what works of what is available.
I have been searching for vital radiance for the past few months. I had no idea it was pulled. I loved this makeup.
Please bring it back. It was the best for my aging skin. Why not pull the kiddy crap from another line?
It figures. I was so happy with these products.
I agree. These coments need to be forwarded on to Revlon. I am so dissapointed that it is gone. Why does the market seem to cater to the younger crowd? What about us middle & upper agers?? What other pr5oduct can I use instead that works well?
No Way!!I tried Bare Minerals for a while and it isn’t Vital Radiance’s look for the older gal. Please someone bring it back.
No Way!!I tried Bare Minerals for a while and it isn’t Vital Radiance’s look for the older gal. Please someone bring it back.
O.K. that does it!!!………….it’s back to AVON for this old chick. (guess I showed them)
I have tried and tried to find a makeup like vital radiance. There are none that cover and make an older skin the with enlarging pores and wrinkles. Seems you could bring it back under another name. But….be sure to let us know the name.
Thanks!!!! I need it!!!!
Please bring back your Vital Radiance Smoothing Face Primer to Rite Aid…it’s a wonderful product. It’s much more convenient to get it at a drug store than on the internet.
Thank you.
I am 72 years old, still very much into makeup and looking good and I cannot praise the vital radiance products enough! Everything their make up claims to do is true and very affordable too! I live in London, England, just found out its been discontinued, what a shame!
I found this blog a year ago and re-visted it as I have just squeezed the life out of my last tube of Vital Radiance Primer and Foundation. It certainly doesn’t surprise me to see all of the postings since then.
I decided to email Revlon Corporate Headquarters and send them this blog and asked them to please read it. Maybe if we all get together and do the same they will reconsider marketing the product differently. It IS an amazing product for us older gals, Let’s try to do this thing:
Here is the email address, you’ll have to keep your comments short and sweet as there is no room for digressing…It’s worth a shot.

I loved the Vital RAdiance smoothing Face Primer SPF 25. Where can I get more?
It really brightens the skin & give a glow to a 60 something face.
I can’t believe I finally found a make-up that really is the best I have ever tried. I received compliments all the time about how nice my skin looked when I wore vital radiance in shell. Please bring it back to the public. I just spent 38.00 dollars for make-up at Bon-Ton and I would pay this much for yours. You have customers who want it and I sincerly hope you listen to the Ladies who will buy it. Thank You.
I’ll tell ya something. Revlon has had a horrendous history for bringing out cosmetics and fragrance lines only to pull them in a short time–not really giving many a chance to catch on. As for the Vital Radiance line, it was extremely overpriced for a discount store brand. Why charge dept. store prices at Wal-Mart or K-Mart? Didn’t make sense. Then again, Revlon has crowded out a lot of their competition by having twice the amount of wall space as the other brands. I’m not a fan of Revlon’s marketing practices, so therefore, I have boycotted buying anything with the word Revlon on it.
