While mall retailers bemoan sagging sales on what has come to be known as the tradition of "Black Friday" (the day after Thanksgiving), reports show an exponentially growing trend for internet shopping. Now termed "Cyber Monday," a shift seems to be taking place from in-store shopping to purchasing on the internet. Hey, why not? You’re not beholden to one chain and can find the best deals from a global offering of online merchants.
Researchers estimate this year’s online holiday spending will increase by 24%, to $19 billion. And fully one-third of those polled say they will use the internet during work hours to do their holiday shopping.
