Here’s an interesting study on the right brain of the female…
Belgium’s Ghent University issued a report in 2003 on a study conducted to find out how the brain reacts when it is presented with “emotional language.” Male and female participants were connected to special ultrasound monitors, and a series of recorded sentences was played in two rounds. In Round One, participants were asked to focus on the words of each sentence and identify which emotion (happy, sad, angry, afraid, or neutral) they thought was being conveyed. In Round Two, they listened to the same sentences, this time identifying the emotion they felt was being conveyed by listening to how the words were spoken in tone and intensity.
The results of Round One showed that when men and women focused only on the words (content) of a sentence, blood flow activity was heightened exclusively on the left side of the brain. When asked to focus on how the sentences were spoken (emotion), however, brain activity in the women not only remained in the left hemisphere, but also increased significantly on the right side – they were still hearing the content, but were also affected emotionally.
What is it in the female brain that would cause this super-sensitive reaction to emotional components?
Believe it or not, Woman does not live by hormones alone… more on this in coming days…
